In July 2026, group members carried out the advanced three-dimensional total scattering experiment at the SPring-8 synchrotron radiation facility in Japan for three-dimensional pair distribution function (3D-PDF) structural analysis. As one of the world’s most advanced synchrotron light sources, SPring-8 provides ultra-high-brightness and high-energy x-rays with excellent beam quality. In this experiment, high-energy X-rays were utilized to collect both Bragg diffraction and diffuse scattering signals, enabling the precise characterization of long-range ordered lattice structures and short-range local atomic arrangements of the materials.
