Our synchrotron x-ray PDF study on argyrodites was published on JACS

On January 8, 2026, our paper was published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society, titled “Local Symmetry Breaking Induced Superionic Conductivity in Argyrodites”.
Using adcanced synchrotron x-ray scattering technique, we revealed the local symmetry breaking phenomenon in argyorodites at the atomic scale, which explains how these materials simultaneously exhibit ultralow thermal conductivity and high ionic conductivity. This work offers new local structure insights for designing next-generation functional materials, especially in thermoeletrics and solid-state electrolytes.
